About the Show
Set in 1930s Budapest, She Loves Me follows Amalia Balash and Georg Nowack, two employees at Maraczek’s Parfumerie who constantly clash despite working side by side. Unknown to each other, they have been falling in love through anonymous letters as secret pen pals.
Based on the 1940 film The Shop Around the Corner—which was later adapted into the romantic comedy You’ve Got Mail—She Loves Me brings this beloved story to the musical stage.
As Amalia and Georg navigate their professional rivalry, secret romance, jealousy, and misunderstandings, the colorful employees of the parfumerie add plenty of humor, heart, and personality along the way.
With its charming characters, witty comedy, romantic story, and beautiful score, She Loves Me is a warm and sophisticated musical about love, identity, and discovering that the person you’re looking for may be closer than you think.
