Auditions – Newsies Jr.

Stage West Playhouse along with directors Michelle Root and Ophelia “Gutz” DeBarge are thrilled to announce auditions for Newsies, Jr.!
Show Dates: July 24-27, 2025
Audition Dates:
Tuesday May 27 at 7:00 PM
Thursday May 29 at 7:00 PM
Shows and Auditions are both at our Playhouse located at 8390 Forest Oaks Blvd in Spring Hill, FL.
Auditioners must be 18 years of age or under and are asked to be prepared to sing, dance and cold read. Please also bring a list of any conflicts between auditions and show dates.
Our music director, Eric Vrtis, has asked for you to prepare an audition song in the style of the show (broadway pop). This song should be 1-2 minutes in length. A blue tooth speaker is available for you to use for a backing track.
Our choreographer, Linda Hougland, has asked for you to dress comfortably, bring water and wear closed toed shoes. To ensure the safety of all auditioners, if you do not have closed toes shoes, you will not be able to participate in the choreography portion of auditions.

We are also looking for students who want to learn about the behind the scenes aspects of theater. We are looking to find a Jr. Director, a Jr. Stage Manager, a Jr. Lighting Operator and a Jr. Sound Operator.
